Incorporating concepts fromm linguistic, psychology, and psycholinguistics, VanPatten covers basic notions that teachers and administrators should habe about the learning of another language, especially if the make decisions about curricula and/or evaluate the expected aoutcomes of those curricula. The resulting book is easily readable by teachers, administrators, students, and even the layperson (anyone who wants to konw how second languages are acquired.
